Wedding Weekend: Bachelorette Party!

I swear I am becoming a professional wedding goer.. Adam and I have literally been to at least 15 weddings together in the last 3 years. We have another one the weekend after next, two more in June (that we're both in!) & one in October. Guess we're just at the point in our lives when EVERYONE is getting married!!

This past weekend one of my best friends got married. We started the festivities on Thursday night in Atlanta for her bachelorette party. A few of us met at the hotel to get ready then met everyone else at dinner. We ate at a fun burger boutique called Flip Burger--they had amazing milkshakes (Nutella & burnt marshmallows.. Mmmmm!!!)

After dinner we headed back to the hotel so Bree could open her gifts.. tons of great lingerie for her and Seany ; )

A while later we hit the town! We went to a really fun bar called The Ivy. We had SO.MUCH.FUN! There was a great live band playing (Funny story--as soon as we walked in I saw two people I went to Nicaragua with.. a little awkward seeing as how I had paper penises taped all over me & I was drinking out of a penis straw, but whatev. They were there because their friends were the ones playing in the band, small freaking world! HA!) We had so much fun with the band.. they were such good sports & let us get up on stage with them and just act crazy. I ended up talking to two of the guys in the band & we decided they needed to play at my wedding.. haha hopefully they really do because they were AWESOME!

We ended the night with a little WaHo action ; )

I seriously love my friends SO much. We always laugh because our group of friends is so diverse--we are all so different, but so alike at the same time. These are the girls I have been friends with for years (some since I was 5) and they are the girls that I know will be there for me not matter what. We have all changed so much throughout our friendship but the one thing that remains the same is our unconditional love for each other. I wouldn't be the same without them.. SO thankful to be surrounded by people who love me so much!!

Bachelorette Party Essentials

So, in honor of Breanna's bachelorette party tonight I thought I'd put together a little Bachelorette Party Essentials kit : )

1) Cute invites! This is a MUST. It sets the tone for the whole party. Here are some of my favorites that I've seen in the blogosphere/WWW

2) Decorations--You can go cutesy, sexy, or straight up raunchy with your decor ; ) Tonight's festivities will definitely be the latter.

3) FOOD--This is probably my favorite party about bachelorette parties. Because I'm super immature and think Penis cakes are hilarious. Yep, I said it.

4) Games--It's always fun to make the bride do crazy stuff. Why not put together a scavenger hunt or a list of dares for the bride to complete throughout the night? It's also fun to make the rest of the party get in on the action too !

5) & of course, a group of the BEST FRIENDS you could ever ask for!

Prayers For Aimee

Hey y'all.. Just wanted to share some pretty heart wrenching news. A girl from my high school was involved in a zip lining accident last week that left her with a gash on her calf. The cut became infected & now Aimee is fighting for her life as a flesh eating bacteria has begun taking over her body. Please be praying for a miracle.

"Tuesday afternoon Aimee suffered a laceration to her calf when a zip-line broke near Carrollton, GA. The ER at Tanner Medical treated and released her with 22 staples in her calf. Aimee is a student at West Georgia University, where she is in the process of completing her Master’s Degree.

Wednesday, Aimee complained of severe pain (the doctors only advised her to take Motrin and Tylenol) so she went back to the ER to get a prescription for Darvocett. This alleviated her symptoms until she complained of additional pain on Thursday. Aimee went to the doctor and received a prescription for antibiotics and posted a clean MRI report. Again, she was treated and released.

Friday morning Aimee was pale and weak, so a friend carried her to Tanner Medical immediately. Upon arrival, the ER physician diagnosed her with necrotizing fasciitis in her damaged leg. The fasciitis had spread beyond the injured area to her hip and thigh. The surgeons advised that they wanted to try to save her leg, but at this point saving her life took precedence. They removed all of the infected tissue and advised that she would have limited, if any use of her leg. They also called for a life flight to the JMS Burn Center in Augusta, which has the most advanced infection care unit in the state.

Upon arrival at JMS, Aimee was once again rushed into surgery and the doctors completed a high-hip amputation of her left leg. They were also forced to remove tissue from her abdomen. As if this wasn’t enough, Aimee cardiac arrested when they moved her from the operating table, but they were able to successfully resuscitate her. The doctors say that Aimee’s probability of surviving the night is bleak. All we can do and all we have done is pray." [Andy Copeland]

This is a summary of all that has happened to Aimee in the last week by her dad. I just ask that each of you please think of Aimee & her family & pray that she will make it through this horrible situation. She needs a miracle right now and I believe that my God will heal her if that is His will. This kind of thing just really puts life into perspective & makes you realize how quickly things can change. Aimee was out doing something so innocent & now her life is completely turned upside down.

3. Magazines!! My top favorites are Glamour, People Style Watch & InStyle. Again, I can't make it through a Target trip without at least looking--at least once a week I stock up on all new mags. I just LOVE them!!

4. Instagram. I abuse this app. I use it ALL the freaking time. Idk why I just really like it!

5. Real Housewives.. of any kind! I am obsessed with them all. Atlanta is my least favorite which is sad because I live here. but they're annoying sometimes. New Jersey is probably my fav ; )
